The Good Night Lens is an extremely high oxygen permeable contact lens that shapes the cornea. The lenses are specially designed to be worn while sleeping and taken out upon waking. This gives you perfect sight in the day, removing the need for daytime contact lenses and spectacles. Because it’s worn while sleeping, Ortho-k also removes the dryness and discomfort of daytime contacts and gives you freedom and comfort.

Is Good Night Lens for me?

Good Night Lens may be suitable for you if:

  • You wear glasses or contact lenses

  • Your daytime contact lenses make your eyes red, dry or tired
  • You are unable to wear your daytime contact lenses due to allergies or other sensitivities

“This is a non-surgical alternative for those who want to temporarily remove the need for daytime contact lenses and glasses.”

Is the Good Night Lens safe?

Wearing Good Night Lenses present the same risks as with wearing other normal contact lenses. Studies have shown that the safety of the Good Night lenses is not compromised compared to contact lenses worn in the day. The rate of infection is 0.077 per year, lower than daily contact lenses worn in the day.

Good Night Lens is also reversible. If you stop wearing the lenses, your vision and prescription will return to their original state prior to the Ortho-K program.

Advantages of Good Night Lens compared to daily contact lenses:

  • Good Night Lens is worn for shorter hours compared to daily contact lenses
  • Lower risk of infection
  • No dryness and discomfort in the day, especially in front of computer
  • Suitable for people who may not wear daily contact lenses due to allergies or dry eyes
  • Cosmetic – your eyes are not red in the day

Why choose Good Night Lens?

  • It provides good vision without spectacles or contact lenses during the day. This is especially good for people who lead active lifestyles or does water/contact sports.
  • A reversible, non-surgical procedure
  • When worn at night, it removes the dryness and discomfort of daytime contact lenses

How long does Good Night Lens take to work?

Good Night Lens takes 10-14 days when first worn to reshape the cornea. Vision will be better day by day until your cornea is modeled to its optimal shape.

Is the Good Night Lens comfortable?

The lenses are customised and designed to be worn during sleep, hence comfort and lens awareness are generally not a problem.

Good Night Lens and Dry Eyes

Good Night Lens are worn at night, hence removing dryness and irritation often associated with daytime contact lenses. At The EyeClinic, we treat existing dry eyes the moment you start on the Good Night Lens wear to prevent dry eyes from worsening. This will allow you to enjoy years of Ortho-k lens wear.

What should you look out for?

You will have to be prepared for multiple visits to our clinic upon the beginning of the Good Night Lens wear.
