Diabetic Retinopathy
Patients who have diabetes suffer from dry eyes, cataracts and retinal bleeds (diabetic retinopathy) much more commonly and at earlier onset than non-diabetics. Early diabetic retinopathy causes no blurring of vision. Screening is very important yearly for all diabetics as early advice on good habits and early treatment can save sight.
Treatment is easy, painless and does not require hospitalisation.
There are two main types of diabetic retinopathy-Proliferative and non-proliferative.
