Are your Dry Eyes properly treated ?
Are you fed up with your dry eyes ?
You have tried every eye drops but nothing works. The truth is Eye drops do not cure dry eyes
If you have had Lasik, the dry eyes is especially difficult to treat.
Why lubricating eye drops are not good enough?
Because dry eyes is not due to a lack of tears.
It is a problem with the quality of the tears you are producing.
Dry eyes is largely due to Meibomitis and Blepharitis.
We need to get you to produce good quality tears with a healthy lipid layer
What is meibomitis?
The tear film contains water and oil which is produced by the meibomian glands. Good oil works as a water proof layer so that the water in your tears does not evaporate. When the eyes are dry, we compensate by making more water and oil. This leads to over production of oil which changes in consistency from liquid oil to like white heads. This leads to blocked oil glands also called meibomitis or marginal gland disease. If left untreated, it leads to styes!
Meibomitis Treatment
-
Eye-Light®
IPL and LED, you know unblocks oil glands on the face. Meibomitis (blocked eyelid glands) is the cause of 70% of dry eyes. Now IPL and LED are used to create a healthy layer of oil on your tear film.
-
Tixel®
Tixel has been used for wrinkle and acne and now it is used for improving oil quality of the tear film .Thermo-Mechanical Ablation TMA® – a non-laser treatment using heat.
What is Blepharitis?
It is a another big cause of dry eyes. Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelids.
The eyelids become red, itchy, crusty and irritated due overgrowth of bacteria along the lid margins. Eye drops do not cure blepharitis. Blephex is an FDA approved clinical grade motor brush that thoroughly cleans the lashes.
We know that Lasik causes dry eyes and we see lots of patients with Post-Lasik Dry Eyes.
I would treat the meibomitis and blepharitis first before embarking on other treatments like punctal plugs.

Kirsten Thrum. After suffering from dry eyes for far too long and without improvement with eye drops, I attended the Eye Clinic by Dr Cheryl for assessment. The treatment Dr Cheryl suggested has worked wonders. No more dry eyes and no more strained eyes. The treatment is painless and relaxing. My only regret is that I waited so long to see the professional and personable Dr Cheryl and her amazing staff.

Florence Seow. After suffering from dry eyes for over a year, which increasingly affected my vision, and after consulting several doctors to no avail, I came to Dr Cheryl Lee. Dr Cheryl Lee is highly professional. Within the first few minutes of the initial consultation, she had identified the root cause of my dry eyes, and recommended several (very effective) treatments. My dry eyes improved significantly after and has only continued to do so. Dr Cheryl Lee is also extremely transparent. I remember thinking that these treatments were lifelong. However, Dr Cheryl Lee quickly informed me that all I needed was 2-3 treatments. There was no hard sell. Dr Cheryl Lee and her team are also super approachable. For example, during a subsequent consultation, I mentioned that my left eye was still suffering dryness although my right eye was great. Previous doctors shook me off, insisting that all I needed were eye drops and eye lid wipes, but Dr Cheryl Lee and her team listened and were persistent in their efforts to resolve this mystery. My dry eyes have now improved and I only return for check ups, such as lid cleansing or a treatment, if and when appropriate. I’ve never written a Google review but my experience with The Eye Clinic definitely warrants one. I am so impressed with the service and mostly importantly, the results. For anyone suffering from dry eyes, I definitely recommend The Eye Clinic!
